Rachel Chau
she/hers Human Biology and Society, B.S. President and Founder Rachel is a fourth year Human Biology and Society major passionate about social advocacy and its intersection in healthcare. She currently interns at the UCLA Mobile Eye Clinic (UMEC) as glasses manager and is a research assistant for the Carceral Ecologies lab under Dr. Shapiro. She is also involved with UCLA's FEM Newsmagazine, is an editor for Dear Asian Youth (DAY), and volunteers as a tutor for children of healthcare workers under Tutoring for Heroes. In her free time, Rachel enjoys listening to music, bullet journaling, embroidery, and practicing makeup techniques.

Kavvya Gupta
she/hers Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology B.S. External Vice President Kavvya is a fourth year Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB) major passionate about social justice and awareness for minorities in healthcare. She is currently involved in Flying Samaritans, Tutoring for Heroes, Universities Allied for Essential Medicine (UAEM), and is currently the Advocacy Chair for Habitat for Humanity. She also currently works for the Center for Culture, Trauma, and Mental Health Disparities currently doing research in reducing risk for trauma and health-related issues for HIV-positive minorities, specifically African Americans and Latinx. In her free time, Kavvya enjoys working out, cooking, and traveling to new places.

Freida Raj
she/hers Human Biology and Society, B.S. Internal Vice President Freida is a fourth year Human Biology and Society student who is passionate about increasing awareness for health disparities through critical engagement with healthcare systems. She is currently Marketing Director for Universities Allied for Essential Medicine (UAEM). She is also an active member of GlobeMed at UCLA, shelter staff at Bruin Shelter, and a mentor for Wazo Connect. She volunteers at the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Clinical Research Lab and is studying the effects of diet on the symptoms and progression of IBD illnesses. In her free time, Freida enjoys working out, listening to music, and creating new playlists.

Sanah Ali
she/her Pre-Human Biology and Society Community Engagement Chair Sanah is a second year Pre-HBS major passionate about ensuring equal access to healthcare for all groups of people regardless of income ability. She is currently an RA in Canyon Point with UCLA ResLife and does Photography and Social Media with Al-Talib Newsmagazine. Her hobbies include hiking, kayaking, and baking!

Sophia Wang
she/hers Environmental Science, B.S. Education Director Sophia is a third year Environmental Science major passionate about ensuring everyone has equal access to affordable healthcare regardless of insurance status, race, gender identity, etc. She works as a research assistant for environmental health in the Lara Cushing Lab and as a Tutor Pairing Manager of Pandemic Professors who provides tutoring to children of frontline healthcare workers. A fun fact about Sophia is that she's been to 23 national parks in the US and her goal is to visit all of them!

Collin Stewart
he/him Human Biology and Society, B.S. Education Director Collin is a third year Human Biology and Society major passionate about investigating the underlying factors contributing to health disparities, such as socioeconomic inequalities, racial injustices, and LGBTQ+ discrimination in healthcare. He is currently involved in UCLA MEDLIFE, Mentorship at UCLA, Cru at UCLA. In his free time, he likes to hike, cook, and take care of his plants.

Leena Nabipur
she/hers Human Biology & Society, B.S., Spanish Minor Graphics Director Leena is a fourth year Human Biology and Society major and Spanish minor. She is dedicated in her advocacy for underserved populations through various outlets, especially in artistic design. Currently, she is involved in various organizations across campus, including being the Fundraising director of the nonprofit organization Timmy Global Health, a Finance committee member of the International Circle of Genetics Studies, and a member of Medicine and Art. She is also doing research at CSUF in cellular post translational modifications. In her free time, Leena loves acrylic painting, drawing, and watching Netflix.

Maya O'Kelly

Graphics Director Maya is a second year Pre-HBS major with goals to reimagine public health in an effort to provide adequate, complete, and necessary healthcare for all regardless of one’s identity or affordability. She is the Communications director for University Allied for Essential Medicines (UAEM), a research assistant for the SAND Lab at UCLA, and an Assistant Design Director for the Daily Bruin. In her free time, Maya enjoys painting, hiking, making desserts, and listening to music.

she/hers Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology, minor in Biomedical Research and the Study of Religion Head Outreach Director Ellery is a fourth year Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology (MCDB) major with minors in Biomedical Research and the Study of Religion. She is passionate about how inequitable food access affects health outcomes particularly for marginalized and historically disadvantaged groups. She is an Apartment Resident Assistant with UCLA ResLife and research Assistant in the David Krantz Lab. She is also the Recruitment Chair for CTSI-RAP, Events Director for UAEM, and involved in the Free the Vaccine International Campaign. In her free time, Ellery enjoys baking, cooking, staying active, and exploring. |
Jalyn Ia
she/hers Psychobiology, B.S. Internal Outreach Director Jalyn is a second year Psychobiology major passionate about advocating for marginalized and disadvantaged groups in order to work towards a future where healthcare is accessible and affordable to everyone regardless of race and gender identity. At UCLA, she is also involved in Kids Korner and Asian Pacific Health Corps. In her free time she enjoys reading, thrifting, and going to cafes and bakeries!

Arman Fakharian
he/his Psychobiology, B.S. Fundraising Director Arman is a fourth year psychobiology major. He’s passionate about raising awareness for the various types of stigma that LGBTQ+ patients often face in healthcare. He is currently the Vice President for PSAC (Persian Social and Athletic Club) the Persian fraternity. He is also a board member for the Genetic Disorder Initiative. He has served as a Learning Assistant for LS30A and LS30B during his second year. In his free time, Arman enjoys playing the guitar, reading, and playing video games.

Patrick Ku

Alongside AIM, he is the Director of Operations at Academic Tutoring Program (ATP), assists in fMRI technology research, and works at a internal medicine clinic in Pacific Palisades.
