Advocating Intersectional Medicine (AIM) aims to propel future healthcare workers to educate themselves in what it means to practice intersectional medicine and advocate alongside others to imagine a future of equitable and accessible medicine. At AIM, we dedicate ourselves to furthering the application of intersectionality. As a community, we recognize health disparities and will work toward healing those affected and restructuring the institutions that instigate inequities in healthcare.

"I wanted to create a space dedicated to the intersection of social issues and healthcare. I've found that often people do not concern themselves with biosocial factors that affect healthcare and medicine, but they connect in ways that many don't realize. It's important as future healthcare providers to understand the structural differences that exist in health because healthcare is not a one size fits all system. My goal with AIM is to create a space to educate ourselves on intersectional issues surrounding healthcare and promote advocacy that empowers others to critically examine ideas that push the healthcare system to be more accessible and equitable."
